Stonehenge - historic site in Wiltshire, England.
Stonehenge is the ruin of a single building of about 162 stone blocks. It lies in the county of Wiltshire in central southern England about 80 miles west of London. It is about 330 feet above sea level on chalk downland known as Salisbury Plain. The nearest town is Amesbury. There are five concentric elements known as the outer sarsen circle, the outer 'bluestone' circle, the inner sarsen trilithons, the inner bluestone horseshoe and the 'Altar Stone'.
