. 7 Battalion, Middlesex Regiment Lt Adamson was educated at City of London School and was studying at Merton College, Oxford (October 1914 - March 1915) when he interrupted his studies to enlist. He received his commission on 5 March 1915, subsequently serving with C Company on the Western Front from July to August 1917 and again from October 1917 to August 1918. He was awarded the Military Cross on 28 May 1918. Aged 23, Lt Adamson was killed in action near Croisilles, France, on 24 August 1918. He is buried at Bellacourt Military Cemetery.
