Buttercross, High Street, Ludlow, Shropshire, 21/05/1985. A stonemason holding a spirit level prior to replacing a block of stone during renovation work at the Buttercross. Renovation work on the Buttercross was carried out by Laing Stonemasonry with work starting in August 1984. The grade I listed building, which was originally built in 1743-46, was restored using the local Grinshill Sandstone from Shropshire. The architects for the refurbishment were Catterall, Morris & Jaboor of Shrewsbury.
