This blackberry was first introduced as Wachusetts Thornless, on account of its com-^parative freedom from spines. This, however, is the chief point m its favor, as the plantJ5 not productive enough to be of vahie to the Ontario fruit grower. Origin : A wild plant on Monadnock Mountain, Massachusetts. Bush : A slow grower, at first upright, afterward drooping ; healthy, not very produc-tive ; spines few, fruit clusters few. ,
