Castle Howard is in Yorkshire It is known for its baroque architecture and neo classical landscape. The TV series Brideshead Revisited was filmed here. Sir John Vanbrugh was the architect, and it took from 1661 to 1736 for the palace to be built. It was the first home in the UK to have a stone dome. A hand-painted ceiling dominates the entry way. The vast landscape includes woods, bridges, lakes, obelisks, the Temple of the Four Winds, a Mausoleum. The Howard family has lived in Castle Howard for over 300 years. The current family members are the Hon. Simon and Mrs. Howard and their twins, Merlin and Octavia. This is one of England's most beautiful historic homes.
