Detroit, Michigan - Detroit residents hold the Marche du Nain Rouge to celebrate the coming of spring and to banish the Nain Rouge (Red Dwarf) from the city. Legend dating from the founding of Detroit 300 years ago says that Le Nain Rouge is an evil spirit that haunts the city. The annual event to drive Le Nain from the city now has the feel of Mardi Gras, with a parade, street theater, costumes, and food and drink.
