Heart-lung machine. Oxygenating mechanism for a heart-lung machine. A heart-lung machine is used during heart surgery to take over the function of the heart and lungs. It oxygenates and pumps blood around the patient. The displays here show the pressure of oxygen supplied, and well as showing the levels of carbon dioxide (which should remain low).
