Typhoon fighter plane simulator. View of the pilot (upper right) and controllers (lower frame) of a Eurofighter Typhoon simulator. The Eurofighter Typhoon has been developed as the most advanced fighter jet in the world. It is an aerodynamically unstable aircraft that is flown by a computerised flight control system. A range of simulators were extensively used to design and test the jet. The Eurofighter is a joint project between the UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain. It began in 1994. The first Eurofighter Typhoons are scheduled to enter service in 2003. Photographed in 2000 at BAE Systems Warton, Manchester, UK.
