Completed pallets are lined up and ready for transportation onto an aircraft at an undisclosed location within the Central Command area of responsibility Aug. 13, 2014. Service member volunteers helped build pallets of humanitarian aid to be airdropped to displaced citizens in the vicinity of Sinjar, Iraq. President Barack Obama authorized humanitarian aid deliveries to Iraq as well as targeted airstrikes to protect personnel from extremists known as the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant. Central Command directed the operations.
