Famous rope bridge known as Carrick-a-Rede Ropse Bridge near Ballintoy, County Antrim, spanning the dizzy gap over the North Atlantic between the mainland and Carrick Island. It was originally erected by salmon fishermen in 1755. There have been various attempts since in making the bridge, the latest made by Heyn Construction from Belfast in 2008, which spans 20m and 30m above sea level. It is owned and maintained by the National Trust. Stunning views can be seen of Rathlin Island and Scotland.
