Severino Antinori (), Italian obstetrician and embryologist. An image of a human foetus is in the background. Antinori studied medicine at the University of Rome. After graduating, in 1972, he specialised in the treatment of infertility. Opening his first infertility clinic in the early 1980s. In 1989 he controversially implanted a donor egg into a post menopausal woman, and then in 1994 carried out IVF in a 62 year old. She gave birth at 63, the oldest woman to do so at the time. After the birth of the cloned sheep Dolly, Antinori became a vocal proponent of reproductive human cloning, which is illegal in the EU. In 2002 he claimed to have impregnated a woman with cloned embryos, although this has never been verified.
