Orion, Gemini and Cancer. Optical photograph of a starry sky at sunset. Orion the hunter can be seen on the right with his bow in the top right hand corner, his three-starred belt, and below it his sword with the pinkish Orion Nebula, M42. The bright yellowish star in this constellation is Betelgeuse, a red giant about 600 light years away. At top left is the constellation of Gemini with the two bright twins, Castor (top) and Pollux (below Castor) very prominent. The bright planet below Pollux is Mars. Lower left in the image lies Cancer, about 520 light years away. The bright star low in the sky is Procyon. Photographed in Vancouver, Canada.
