WWI. Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. Monfalcone : 'Quota 121', also called 'Cima di Pietrarossa'. The redoubt at 'Quota 121' was one of the Karst most strategic places because of its dominant position. In summer 1915, it became one of the bulwarks of the Austro-Hungarian defence and repelled the Terza Armata's attacks till August 1916, when the Italians got the control over it in the sixth battle of the Isonzo. The trenches were lost and conquered repeatedly, from Italian they became Austrian and vice versa.
