Mercury (above) and Jupiter in a close conjunction at dawn on March 4, 2021, when they were 35 arc minutes (a little more than half a degree) apart very low in the bright twilight. Mercury was not obvious even in binoculars but the camera picked up both planets well. Jupiter was magnitude -2 while Mercury was about magnitude Taken from home at latitude +51° N. This is a single 1/10-second exposure with the 200mm lens at f/4 on the Canon 60Da at ISO 100.
