A service member with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) renders a salute during a disinterment ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, August 11, 2022. Once the remains are disinterred, they will be transferred to the DPAA laboratory for identification. DPAA’s mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting for missing and unaccounted-for personnel to their families and our Nation.
