In almost every State of the Union representa-tives of the institution are to be found, making an impression on societyand exerting an influence for good. The course of studies is thoroughand extensive,—the discipline parental and energetic: the same systemsubstantially has been adopted by the other collegiate institutions, sinceestablished in the church, and of which Pennsylvania College may beregarded as the parent. There are two vacations in the year, com-mencing on the third Thursday of April and September. The AnnualCommencement takes place at the close of the summer St. Marks Lutheran Church, Philadelphia. This new and beautiful building is situated on the south side ofSpring Garden Street, west of Thirteenth Street. It is a brick struc-ture, masticated, its front presenting a fine specimen of the Romansquare style of architecture, characterized for simplicity and fine present excellent minister is the Rev.
