A380 Airbus Registration FWW0W at Farnborough Airshow 2006 being moved backwards towards its parking position in the static dispaly area at Farnborough Airfield. Viewed from port forward fuselage quarter . The A380 made its maiden voyage last year from Toulouse powered by four new Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines designed specially for this plane . The double decker aircraft was designed to hold 555 passengers and produces less noise than a 747 jet its makers claim . It is 235ft or 71 metres long . This Airbus is the largest flying passenger airliner in the world and powered by four Rolls Royce engines. The twin deck aircraft can carry about 555 people more than the Boeing 747 jumbo built by Airbus main competitor . Built by a consortium of French British German and Spanish it is truly a symbol of international cooperation . It is a joint venture between European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS and BAE Systems .This wide bodied double deck aircraft flew everyday in the air display at the Farnborough Airshow in July . Many of the world s busiest airports are having to change their terminal buildings to accommodate the A380 . Airbus headquarters is in Toulouse France
