Navy LCDR Junsub Um, Deputy Chaplain at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni stands in front of a cross set up for the air stations Easter Sunrise Service at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan, Apr. 17 2022. Um was born and raised in South Korea and served in the Korean Army for two years before moving to the United States, attending seminary and joining the Navy to become a chaplain. Being a chaplain gives Um a sense of giving back to his community, he offers religious support to Marines and Sailors stationed at MCAS Iwakuni.
