The total weight of train, including locomotiveand passengers, was 431 tons and 265 tons for the eight-carand four-car trains respectively. Two sets of curves are shown withrunning tests reaching as high amaximum speed as possible with thelength of track available, and two setsof starting tests showing the morerapid rate of acceleration possiblewith the higher maintained voltageavailable near the sub-station. Themaximum speeds reached were with an eight-car train, and72 with a four-car train. Itwill be noted
