Suphur deposits leave vivid colours in this cold desert at Hverarond Geothermal Field North East Iceland, near Krafla Volcano, Iceland.

NASA have used this area for training prior to moon landings due to its lunar landscape terrain. The earth is pitted with areas that once filled with rain water will develop into bubbling mud pools.
