Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Marcel Parson, command sergeant major for 7458th Medical Backfill Bn.; and Col. Melinda Wellborn, commander for 7458th Medical Backfill Bn., work to coordinate support as officer and non-commissioned officer-in-charge for the medical portion of the Texas A&M Colonias Innovative Readiness Training mission which provided medical services from 19 – 29 June, 2017. Wellborn and Parson led a team of approximately 125 Army Reserve Soldiers who are working in partnership with the Texas A&M Colonias program to provide medical care to Webb County’s underserved colonias population.

Wellborn and Parson led a team of approximately 125 Army Reserve Soldiers who are working in partnership with the Texas A&M Colonias program to provide medical care to Webb County’s underserved colonias population. Services provided by Army Reserve personnel are done through the Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training, a civil-military program that builds mutually beneficial partnerships between communities and the DoD. The missions selected meet training & readiness requirements for Army Reserve service members while integrating them as a joint and whole-of-society team to serve our American citizens.
