A Chimpanzee in Kumasi zoo, central Ghana. European zoos, such as Colchester Zoo in the UK, have begun a zookeeper consultancy programme to assist the zoo in improving animal welfare and educational recourses at the zoo. It has around 40 different species within the collection, including chimpanzees, an elephant, tortoises, monkeys and crocodiles.
