02/10/2020. The River Thames UK After battling storms in the English Channel, Greenpeace’s ship MV Esperanza is pictured sailing the Thames on her way to London. The former Soviet Navy fire-fighting vessel has just completed a mission laying rocks on a 47 square mile area of the North Sea forming an underwater barrier to protect depleted fish stocks from trawlers. Esperanza will be moored near Tower Bridge for a four day visit, sailing on the 5th October.
