Yarlung River near Tsetang, Tibet
The Yarlung River,which flows through Tibet to India and Bangladesh where it becomes the Brahmaputra River, is considered to be the Mother River by Tibetans. Near Tsetang there is a crossing over the Yarlung which forms the gateway to Samye Monastery, the oldest in Tibet,which was founded in the 8th century.
