Cavalry Scout student soldiers in the 19D Advanced Leadership Class listen to instruction about mitigating chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents. The Idaho Army National Guard's 204th Regional Training Institute graduated another Cavalry Scout Advance Leadership Class in June. With this class scout instructors offered a new element of educational awareness with the introduction of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) instruction and information. On the basis of past scout students asking questions regarding CBRN information on equipment and the potential for entering suspected CBRN areas, the RTI Instructors made a decision with this most recent class to introduce some basic information that would be useful. The Idaho National Guard on Gowen Field is also home to the 101st Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team. Consisting of 22 Soldiers and Airmen the Civil Support Team is trained and skilled in responding to chemical, biological and radiological agents and incidents. Soldiers from the Civil Support team provided a morning of instruction, answering questions and offering scout students a look at the tools and equipment associated with their work
