The exhibit was taste- fully arranged, and received a certifi- cate of merit. Cultural certificates were also awarded to this firm for each of two fine specimen plants of Cattleya labiata. A. N. Pierson. Inc., of Cromwell, Conn., made a very fine display of cut flowers, single and pompon varieties of chrysanthemums predominating. The novelties in this class that this firm is featuring showed up in good shape, es- pecially the new set of pompons in pots. A certificate of merit was award- ed the display. The MacMillan Co., of Greenwich, Conn., gained a certificate of merit for a fine display of cut flowers, foliage plants in choice variety, pots of chrys- anthemum plants, baskets and other decorative work. The prize list in the non-commercial classes was quite an extensive one. Prominent among the successful con- testants, the following were noted: Miss Georgiana Iselin, (Ewen MacKen- zie, Gr.) seven firsts, five seconds, two thirds; Mrs. F. A. Constable (James Stuart, Gr.), six firsts, three seconds; Mrs. Nathan Strause (Thos. Aitchison, Gr.), four firsts and four seconds; P. W. Popp, three firsts and five seconds. A most excellent exhibition of fruits and vegetables in competition was an interesting feature of the display. Sil- ver cups were awarded to James Tie- man and to Adam Patterson, gardener to Miss M.
