In every case the nitrogen of the foodand the nitrogen and urea of the urine were determined. The nitrogen of the feceswas determined on one day of one water period, and on one day of the period inwhich absolute alcohol was consumed. Therefore these are the only tests includedin the table. In every case the amount of nitrogen in the food consumed was In the two periods not included in the table, when water was consumed, 17grams and 16 grams of nitrogen, respectively, were excreted in the urine, and in theperiod in which brandy was consumed, grams.
