A scene from Hudibras, an English satirical polemic written by Samuel Butler(1613 – 1680), poet and satirist, mostly against Parliamenterians,Roundheads, Puritans, Presbyterians and other factions involved in the English Civil War of 1642-1651. The epic tells the story of Sir Hudibras and his squire, Ralpho who ride forth from the knight’s home to reform what they call sins and what the rest of the world regards as mild amusement. Here the knight and squire leave the house on their quest.
