Tijdschrift voor entomologie . species. — Head times as broad as long; OOL : POL : LOL = 6:13:7; head entirely but faintly re-ticulate z^e5rm«5 Walker, 1835 Occipital carina traceable. Median plate of mesoscutum slightly, but very broadly prolongedas a light brown flange, over base of scutellum; postero-lateral parts of mesoscutum sparselyhairy; scutellum long, and slightly convex, at level of mesoscutum, excavated behind andprolonged by a short membrane; mesoscutum faintly coriaceous, sparsely hairy; propodealcarinae high, very close, seemingly fused. Black, shiny species. Antennae brown. Legsbrown, tarsi lighter. Length male mm (figs. 21a—21c). Remarks. — Platygaster leptines Walker, 1835, differs only slightly from P. vestinusWalker, 1835, by the following characters: Frons, vertex and occiput transversely ending into a toothed lamella-like structure; propodeal carinae rather close to eachother, moderately high and with a blunt surface. Length male mm (figs. 22a—22c). Figs. 17—22. a, antenna; b, head (dorsal view); c, metasoma (dorsal view). 17a—c, Platygaster inermis (lecto-type); 18a—c, P. Unas (lectotype); 19a—c, P. cochleata (lectotype); 20a—c, P. fiUcorms (lectotype); 21a—c, (lectotype); 22a—c, P. leptines (lectotype). Vlug: Types of Platygastndae 189 vestinus and P. leptines have some characters in common with species of Leptacis, Platygasterand the cochleata group of Platygaster. Their systematic position needs further study. Insome respects the species are similar, nevertheless I prefer to consider them separate speciesuntil rearing results prove their conspecificity. 19. Smooth and shiny species; sometimes faint sculpture in anterior region of mesoscutum 20 — At least some microsculpture on head and/or mesoscutum 22 20. Head about times as broad as long. Notauli incomplete galenus Walker, 1835 OOL : POL : LOL = 5 : 11:3; head smooth, shiny; occiput very weakly transverselystriat
