Engraving by Josias Murer entitled: "Felis, et Leporis". Illustration appeared in De vocis auditusque organis historia anatomica singulari fide methodo, 1601. A cat with throat dissected, plus several anatomical views of the speech organs. Speech organs produce the many sounds needed for language. Organs used include the lips, teeth, tongue, alveolar ridge, hard palate, velum (soft palate), uvula and glottis.
