Nurseries (Horticulture) Ohio Springfield Catalogs; Plants, Ornamental Catalogs; Flowers Catalogs; Bulbs (Plants) Catalogs. 26 McGregor Brothers, Florists, Springfield, THE BABY {Primula Forbesi.) • Lovers of beautiful flowers fre- quently wonder what the next new plant will be like They often do not know that the very newest thing has been cultivated years before—but grown and bloomed unseen. Thi3 is exactly the case with the ''Baby Prim- rose" (Primula, forbesi), which has re- cently become so popular in Philadel- phia and New York. It is a wonderfully free-blooming plant, commencing to flower as soon as bom. It is raised from divisions; also from the seed, though the latter method is unadvisable ow- ing to the uncertain and variable character of the seedlings. Jr. forms a dense rosette of somewhat fleshy leaves, from which spring the flowering stems, twelve, fifteen and even twenty inches tall, supporting three tiers or whorls of dainty flowers of a delicate rosy-lilac, with eye of pale gold. The flowers g,re not more than half an inch in diam- eter, but they are produced in such great abundance that a few plants pre- sent a dense mass of bloom, which continues without interruption and with increasing vigor from September until June. The plant then is benefitted by a rest; and, having now formed a dense clump, it is desirable that it be divided and the stock increased thereby, each plant making ten to twelve divisions. As a pot plant it cannot be surpassed. We would advise all our customers to give it a trial; we are confident that its dainty flowers will more than repay you for the expense and trouble. Price, 20 cents; three for 50 cents. The Baby Primrose. PANDANUS UTILIS. For majesty of form and gracefully arranged foliage, this plant is without a peer, while its vigorous constitution en- ables it to stand mo re neglect without serious injury, than almost any other plant w« know of.
