Silver tetradrachm of Mithradates I, Parthian, from Iran, 171-138 BC. The Parthians were an Iranian nomadic tribe who lived south-east of the Caspian Sea in the third century BC. The coins shows Mithradates I (171-138 BC) on the obverse (front) and the standing nude figure of Heracles on the reverse (back). From the British Museum's collection.
