YEATES, Richard, Bishop of theThird Ward, Logan, Cache county,Utah, is the son of William and Har-riet Yeates and was born July 19, 1849,in Rose-Green, Sussex, England. Hewas baptized by William Stoner atBrighton, England, March 15, 1864; emi-gl-ated to Utah in 1868, crossing the At-lantic in the ship Colorado, whichsailed from Liverpool, July 14, 1868; helocated in Logan, Cache county, wherehe still re?iies. July 7, 1884, he wasordained a Seventy. From 1884 lo 1888he held the position of assessor andcollector of Logan city. In 1889-90 hefilled a mission to England. May , he was ordained a High Priest andset apart to act as first counselor to Bishop Robert Davidson by ApostleFranklin D. Richards. This positionhe held until the Bishops death. Atthe quarterly conference held in LoganApril 30, 1900, he was ordained a Bishop. and set apart to preside over the ThirdWard, Logan, by Apostle Geo. Teas-dale. On the same occasion Wm. Wat-terson and James Larsen were setapart as his counselors. HYDE, William, junior, Bishop ofthe Fifth Ward, Logan, was born , 1847, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, the sonof Wm. Hyde and Elizabeth Howe Bul-lard. His father figured prominentlyin the early history of Cache valley,particularly at Hyde Park, where heacted as Bishop.
