Circus Maximus is a ancient Roman Chariot-racing stadium and mass entertainment venue in the heart of Rome. Besides Chariot Races, other public spectacles including executions, gladiator contests and animal hunts were staged there. It was founded in the 6th century BC and by the end of the 1st century AD it could accommodate over 250,000 people.
