The supply of stock last week dimin- ished a little, while the demand became more brisk, and at the close of the week there was not nearly enough to go around. The shortage, however, was not so severe as to cause an increase in prices, but it is expected that prices soon will advance to some extent. Some good home-grown carnations and roses are now being received. The gladioli are about through with, and asters and dahl- ias are the only good outdoor flowers now. Various Notes. W. J. Barnes placed a large decora- tion at the Emory, Bird & Thayer store for "Old Glory" week, using about 500 plants of all kinds. The Alpha Floral Co. has its new tele- phone board in operation and finds it a big saving. Mr. Elberfield is bringing in many sweet peas, dahlias and gladioli daily from his farm. The Kellogg Flower & Plant Co. re- ports that business is good but stock a little short. They are gettiftg better prices, at present at least. Miss Jennie Murray reports that busi-
