Hisson, the Black Prince, defeated the French at. the battle of Poictiers, 19 Sept., 1356, andbrought King John prisoner to London, wherehe remained nearly five years (for further par-ticulars, see Royal Lineage, Fosters Peerage).The King died at Sheen, Surrey, n June, 1377,having had issue ; his descendant TRYPHENA BLENNERHASSETT (3rddaughter of Capt. John Blennerhassett, ofCastle Conway, Black Jack, see page 593^)married (settlement dated 8 Jan., 1723) toUlick FitzMaurice, of Duaghnafealy, co. Kerry(eldest son of Garrett FitzMaurice, see note *);made his will 10 Aug., 173S; had at least 4ons and 2 daughters.
