James III of Majorca (1315-1349), known as "the Rash" or "the Unfortunate". King of Majorca (1324-1343). James III in the Battle of Llucmajor, on 25 October 1349. In this battle he was defeated by the troops of King Peter IV of Aragon, dying in the course of the combat. The Kingdom of Majorca was incorporated into the Crown of Aragon. Engraving.
