After hearing and acceptingthe gospel, their lives are changed. They be-come brighter and more straightforward, andhave a love for other people. Christmas is a great event in the WoolstonMemorial Hospital, not only for the patientsand workers, but also for as many of theneighbours as can be accommodated in thechapel. There is never any difficulty with re-gard to unwilling guests; on the contrary, theneighbours invariably respond with almost dis-concerting enthusiasm. The first year that. Careful explanations as to why allcould not be invited were made; but in spiteof this, during the days preceding Christmas,the doctor was besieged by the non-elect withrequests for invitations. The guests were invited for half-past sevenChristmas evening, but the great majority ofthem were on hand at four oclock waiting forthe doors to be opened. When they wereopened, and the guests began to pass in, pre-senting their red tickets, a new predicamentarose; for it was discovered that many of thesetickets were of their own manufacture, thenumber of those which were passed in far ex-ceeding the number of those which had beengiven out.
