King Leopold of the Belgians, accompanied by Crown Prince Baudouin, with his second wife Princess of Rethy in Amsterdam. Leopold III (3 November 1901 - 25 September 1983) was King of the Belgians from 23 February 1934 until his abdication on 16 July 1951. Princess Lilian of Belgium, Princess of Rethy (born Mary Lilian Henriette Lucie Josephine Ghislaine Baels; 28 November 1916 - 7 June 2002). Baudouin was the elder son of King Leopold III (1901-1983) and his first wife, Princess Astrid of Sweden (1905-1935)
