Salivary gland tumour. Pleomorphic salivary adenoma at the junction of the hard and soft palates in the mouth of an 82-year-old man. This is a type of benign (harmless) tumour and is the most common type of salivary gland tumour. Although it is harmless, it can grow to large proportions, hindering jaw function, and may turn malignant (cancerous) if left untreated.
