Acute cholecystitis, light micrograph


Light micrograph of a haematoxylin and eosin-stained section of inflamed gallbladder (acute cholecystitis). It shows acute as well as chronic inflammation within epithelium lining the gallbladder. There are neutrophils within the epithelium and lymphocytes and plasma cells underneath in the lamina propria.
