Preparing for the Ice-Cap Campaign 243 Easter Sunday, April 17th, was an exquisite day,but a busy one, for we had many preparations tomake for our start next morning on the sledge jour-ney around Inglefield Gulf, which Mrs. Peary and Iwere going to make. I gave Kyo a gun and sent him out after seal, andhe soon returned, having shot the first seal of theseason.
