The 718 was a development of the successful Porsche 550 (the infamous car James Dean crashed ans was killed in) Improvements were made to the body work and suspension. The new front frame resembled the latter if viewed from the front and this led to the car being referred to as the RSK. It had mid-engine layout and used the 142 horsepower (106kW) Type 547/3 quad-cam engine One of only 35 Porsche 718 RSKs ever built The 718 is widely considered to be the most beautiful Spyder model
