Gibbous Moon, seen in a view of Earth's horizon and atmosphere. The blue haze seen above the Earth is its atmosphere, which fades out into space around 100 kilometres above the surface. Photographed on 3 November 2007, by an Expedition 16 crewmember on the International Space Station (ISS). The ISS orbits at an altitude of around 350 kilometres above the Earth.
