Birling Gap, East Sussex, April reflections and I hope many Happy memories for the Oaten family that owned cottage no3 .Expecting at least another five or six years family holiday use, 7 years erosion in as many months undercut the cottage requiring it to be demolished before it fell onto the beach. No 4 is now on the end with newly rendered outer wall. If erosion continues at this record rate it may share the same fate next year.
