This would throw some doubt as to the identity of the specimen in the Paris Museum with that actually seen by Lamarck. The characters of the specimen figured by Bouvier in Mem. Mus. Comp. Zool., vol. 47, 1923, as lamarcki are those of the four American specimens that I here record as R.
