This Lancelot Harbottle, coming into Herefordshire, and marrying with Bulcotts (the firstof this town) wifes sister, a woman of mean parentage, was probablj persuaded by his wifes brotherin law, who was then a man of authority and note, to come and set up a mercers shop here, inwhich he met with success: he was buried in the chancel of the Priory, with this inscription, Herelyeth the body of Lancelot Herbert, who died the 14th day of September, 1617.
