110321-N-AE238-015 SEATTLE (March 21, 2011) Kay Simpkins, a representative from Naval Station Everett's Fleet and Family Support Center helps a voluntary returnee enroll in the Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) which standardizes a method for the Navy to account, manage, and monitor the recovery process for personnel and their families affected and/or scattered by a wide-spread catastrophic event. More than 100 Sailors, Marines and civilians throughout Navy Region Northwest worked with their Army and Air Force counterparts along with other agencies including: SEATAC, Port of Seattle, Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Border Protection, and volunteers from the United Services Organization (USO) and American Red Cross. Teams are providing assistance to the more than 120 family members who arrived at Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEATAC) from Japan as part of Operation Tomodachi. A projected 6,800 family members are expected to arrive at SEATAC as part of Operation Tomodachi on 20 separate flights.
