Light micrograph of a section through the developing tooth of a foetal cat. At the centre of the tooth is pulp (light pink).The blue arc is the dentin of the tooth, which is secreted by odontoblasts (line of pink cells beneath dentin). The dark red cap on the dentin is the enamel covering the crown of the tooth. It is secreted by ameloblast cells (line of pink cells above enamel). Magnification: x200 when printed at 15cm wide.
