A. 49 The No. 5 rheostat is a combination of two No. 2 rheostatsfirmly held together by two steel bars at the bottom and a steel platecovered with asbestos at the top. A single pole, single throw, knifeswitch is screwed fast to the top plate. The rheostat is covered withperforated sheet steel cover with switch exposed f^r n; No. 7 PRICE, No. 7 rheostat as illustrated and described $ The No. 7 rheostat is, we believe, absolutely unique. It is de-signed to operate on 110 volts current, covering a range of from 5to 45 amperes, in steps of 5 amperes each. Its frame is the best greyiron casting thruout and tiie resistance is in coils of special wire, having porcelain cores. Although this special wire is of high electricalresistance qualities, it does not overheat and with a given arc, canbe maintained at the same temperature and current capacity. Thisrheostat is provided with an indicating switch as shown in the cut. The rheostat is covered witli perforated sheet steel and entirelyfinished in black japan and nickel. The No. 8 rheostat is for use on 110 voltcircuit and is one spiral coil of coiled highresistance wire. The same is used in the as in the No. 7. It has a capacity of 4>^amperes, so that it is possil)le to connect tothe ordinarj incandescent socket. It is coveredperforated sheet steel an
